Say it with me
My parents smiled when I told them that I had passed the difficult national exam for state university enrollment in 2000. Like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, I never finished my higher education. Like Marquez too, I couldn't stop my hands from taking any written stuff, especially the likes of John Keats, Thomas Hardy, Chairil Anwar and the indispensable Ernest Hemingway - whom I read and reread and translated to the degree the books were rumpled.
Only later did I have conscious, rational understanding that English and Indonesian are also beautiful tongues, capable of moving humanity and business ahead, when writers use them outside the fantastic realm of literature. So I started reading, writing and translating blogs, articles, news and so on. In 2012, I started to feel an acute addiction to the Internet - and since then never a day passed without me plugging in my home modem into my old laptop.
Work Terms
I'd love to work with any client who will reasonably provide the materials to translate or write through Guru.com. A down payment to the escrow of 50% is fair. I will revise, revise and revise until the clients contact me - not for the last time - with happy smile on their face.
