Apply the hard science found behind nutrition. physical fitness and health with the most fun, rewarding and simple way possible.
You may be asking: why am I qualified to teach and counsel about nutrition and fitness? Well, maybe by reading my story below, you'll figure it out.
It was probably about 14-15 years old, in middle school, that I remember getting picked on for my weight. I wasn't obese, but I was packing a few extra pounds. I was also not confident, had very few friends and little luck with the ladies. So I fearfully and hesitantly decided to go to the gym in hopes of changing my body image.
I started working out with my dad at first. Despite my shortcomings, one of my redeeming qualities was my hunger for learning new information and researching (at least with regards to the things I care about). Since I was adamant about changing my body, the natural course of action was to start learning about fitness and nutrition.
This took me on an ever-lasting road of researching information and applying it to myself when it comes to fitness and nutrition. The more I learned, the more passionate I became about it. Eventually my goals shifted from simply losing a few extra pounds to getting into some serious competent body image, muscle mass and athletic performance.
It also led me to become a professional Dietitian and Nutritionist. This doesn't mean that my search for new information has stopped, in fact it's grown even stronger.
So to answer the basic question. I don't think that I'm qualified to talk and teach about these things because I have a degree on them. I think I'm qualified because I made pretty much every mistake there is to make on thus subject. I failed A LOT and struggled a lot. I think this is what makes me so good at what I do. That I can relate to everyone that is now struggling with their weight and that I can advise people to NOT do the same mistakes that I did, saving them a lot of time, wasted effort and frustration.
Currently I own and run a website/blog at www.fitnessgate.org. You're welcome to read it, but it's in Greek;)
