I'm an illustrator with a passion for visual storytelling and creative education. I have over 5 years' experience in illustrating and formatting children's books of all kinds.
Alongside having illustrated over 20 books, I have worked as an in-house illustrator for children's stories, games and educational apps and have an M.A. degree in Literature, which comes in handy in all creative matters. I also have a background in Korean traditional painting and Calligraphy, both Eastern and Western and love experimenting with various visual elements and traditions around the world.
I mostly illustrate in traditional media (watercolor, ink, colored pencil, charcoal etc), with final digital touches.The medium and style usually come naturally from the story, but I really enjoy getting creative with expressive characters, dynamic composition and original points of view.
I can layout books for publishing across most platforms and formats (CreateSpace,IngramSpark, Amazon Kindle, etc.)
Work Terms
Having worked as an in-house illustrator before, I am pretty organized and efficient with my time. For longer projects, I follow timelines that I set up together with the client. I keep them up to date with every stage of the project and am happy to receive feedback. I communicate mostly through email, but am open to other channels.
