A technical creative who combines images and sound to create engaging programming.
I’m a video professional, with 20+ years of experience producing hundreds of videos for cable TV. I have a good mix of skills in producing, writing, videography, and editing that makes me an excellent choice to take on your video project. I’ve edited a wide variety of projects for educational, government, and community television, from 30-second PSAs, to 6-minute informational videos and longer format documentaries, to 90-second shorts for website and social media. I have also edited many events – cutting out unnecessary footage, fixing mistakes, adding opens, ending credits, lower thirds, and logos. My passion, and where I excelled, was producing short videos for the award-winning “YES-TV” newsmagazine show - using advanced storytelling and interview skills to communicate positive school district messages through stories of excellent teachers, students, and educational programs. These 3-minute news feature videos blended narrated voice tracks with interview bites and B-roll footage. For these videos, I set up and operated the camera, microphones and lighting, conducted the interviews, wrote scripts, and edited the footage. I’m skilled with both camcorders and DSLR cameras for shooting B-roll and interviews. I’m expert at nonlinear editing, including effects and filters, color correction, and animated graphics. I’m a master with audio - great at laying music beds and sound effects, balancing audio levels, and mixing voice tracks with ambient sound and music. I can edit in Final Cut or Premiere Pro, am skilled in After Effects and Photoshop, and use Media Encoder for digitizing videos into various file formats for playback on cable, websites, YouTube, Vimeo, and social media. Whatever the project, I’m confident that I can handle it, and you’ll be pleased with the results.
