I speak Mandarin as my native language and English as my first language. I have been volunteering in various projects that require translation, including YouTube videos, TED videos and itch.io (online game sharing platform).
Cultural understanding for translating is crucial as it can prevent misinterpretation of certain phrases. As I am living in a bilingual society, this would not be a problem.
Money and pay are not my first consideration for any project/work, it is always job quality on the top of the list.
