A Dutch national living and working in Jakarta, Indonesia from 1994. Retired from office job 2 years ago to focus on my hobby which is photography. Just looking for some side jobs to fill my spare time.

Have worked as a technical advisor at a local Indonesian company but in the end also at the principal company from Germany. Have accommodated communication of general and technical matters in English between the local Indonesian company and its principal in the USA and Germany. Proficient in English and Indonesian. Dutch is my native language. Having a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Delft in the the Netherlands. Last couple of years I have given training in the field of technical maintenance with specialism Vibration Analysis, and have been an instructor for Mobius Institute Australia (holding a level 3 certificate in Vibration Analysis myself).

Willing to help with translation jobs in a flexible manner of not more than about 8 hours a week (negotiable). I would be able to help not only with translation but also with differences in culture, as from my experience miscommunication often happens because of the difference in culture. Being a Dutch citizen I do understand both the western and eastern culture, as I have lived in Jakarta and have worked in this environment for more than 20 years. Also interested in proofreading jobs in English or Dutch, as I like to read. With my technical background I will be able to read technical articles and manuals, as well as (sales/training) presentations and general texts.
