Highly-motivated strategic communications and public relations professional with the capacity to develop, implement, and lead complex projects.
Currently, I am the Director of Health Programs for the National Caucus and Center on Black Aged, Inc. (NCBA), an advocacy organization located in Washington, DC.
As Director of Health Programs, I have over 10 years of experience developing, implementing, and spearheading public education campaigns to promote positive health behaviors to improve the quality of life for middle class, low-income, and other marginally challenged seniors and their families. Most recently, I developed and presented the NCBA Board of Directors with a strategic communications plan that includes new and innovative communications strategies to enhance the board’s capacity to gain awareness and market NCBA and to also demonstrate the organization’s impact on the lives of low-income African American and other racial and ethnic minority seniors to its key stakeholders which include public and private sector business leaders, aging industry service providers, academics, and potential donors.
In addition to my employment with NCBA, I am also a part-time Alumni Instructor at Georgetown University, School of Continuing Studies where I lead and advise a cohort of graduate students about the fundamentals of strategic communications planning in order to complete their capstone projects in the Masters of Professional Studies in Public Relations and Corporate Communications Program. While my experiences are eclectic—they all boil down to one task: helping others to succeed. Regardless of the assignment, I am passionate about leveraging talent as a communicator to improve the well-being of others either individually or as part of a team.
