Native Norwegian based in London, fluent in both languages looking for translation and audio work

I was born in Norwegian where I lived for the first 20 years of my life. In college I studied English and English literature which I achieved top marks in. One of my hobbies was writing Norwegian fiction and drama, and I did several novelist competitions. One of my novels "Jenta og spøkelseshesten" won a competition and was published in a children's book.

Almost 10 years ago I moved to England and I have been here since. My day job is within finance, but I still enjoy writing in my spare time. I have done some translation work for friends and family. I also translated a user guide for a piece of software from English to Norwegian when I worked for a software company recently. For them I also did several voice recordings which was used on their YouTube 'how to' videos.

I am looking for smaller pieces of work as I want to build my portfolio as a translator. I am also happy to do voice recordings.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our dog Luna. We often go hiking when the British weather allows it, or I relax with a book, go to the gym, cook or spend time with friends.
I am an environmentalist and try to live in a way which causes as little waste and damage to my surroundings. I am also vegan which I have been since 2016.

Work Terms

I have a day job so ideally looking for work I can do in my own time in the evenings or during weekends.
My rate is flexible. As I am only starting out, I am more interested in gaining experience and building my portfolio than making a lot of money from this.
Payment would be required within 30 days of completing the work.
