As a beginning editor I hope to prove myself as a competent writer and reader through my understanding of history, fiction, languages, and how people understand writing.
I come from a small town in Missouri, USA but I love to get around and experience as much as possible. Since I was young I always loved reading and writing, even trying to start a co-written book in third grade with two of my classmates (unfortunately I moved shortly after beginning and we never finished). I have lived in three countries, the USA being my home, when I was 15 I lived in the Netherlands for a short time, and I'm living in China now for my second year. In university I studied History with hopes to become an archivist after graduation, but the call of the unknown reached me again and I moved to China to teach English, I have taught both kids and adults. As I prepare for my return to the west, I have been thinking about my future and what I love. Reading, writing, and history still remain at and near the top of that list. I hope to use what I have learned in university reading, writing, and reviewing my peers, what I have learned about understanding English writing by living abroad, and what I have learned through my own reading experiences to help others create better works of their own. Whether or not editing will be a career for me remains to be seen, but I have no doubt that I have the skills to start and further develop those abilities to be useful wherever I go.
Work Terms
As I live in China and have a full time job, my life can be pretty busy. However, I will make the promise to always complete the job in time. If you're in the USA, then I can usually communicate directly either morning or night which will be the opposite from me +13 hours from US Central Standard. I prefer to communicate via email, but I am open to use other methods as you need.
