Figurative Artist with a passion for realistic and emotive work.
Ashley Cassens is an emerging artist who is currently earning her Master of Fine Arts at Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, FL where she has received a full Teaching Assistant Scholarship.
She has been awarded several grants, including a Provost Fellowship 2014-15, a Graduate Advisory Board Grant, the Friedland, and over $7,000 from the Women in Visual Arts. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Minor in Art History at Florida Southern College, home of the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture.
In addition to her current teaching accreditation at FAU, Ashley taught Drawing and Design for many years at the ArtQuest School of Art and Design in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Her recent paintings explore intimacy, touch and familial connection.
She is seeking book cover illustrations that utilize figures and realistic interpretations.
