Hello, my name is Avis Woods and I am a Graphic Designer and Creative Thinker. I was born and raised in Durham, NC. While growing up, I always had a passion for art and design. I decided to pursue this passion by attending undergraduate school at Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, NC. While there, I allowed my interest for art and design to blossom by majoring in Computer Graphics.

After graduating from WSSU cum laude and a semester early, there was still something missing. I wanted to continue to grow and learn as a designer,
so I enrolled in classes at the Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue my Master's degree. Also known as SCAD, this school is one of the most prestigious art colleges in the country! Throughout my courses at SCAD, I gained tremendous knowledge in the areas of typography, color, branding, print production and layout, just to name a few.

With over five years of professional experience, I have had the privilege of working for a diverse group of companies. The first company was an integrated marketing company with major clients such as General Mills and Goody. Next I moved to a small Public Relations company, who supported Atlanta Housing Authority. Finally, I landed at an Advertising Agency in Buckhead. Here, I got to work with large clients like Cousins Properties, Tanger Outlets and Silver Sands Factory Stores just to name a few. Currently, I work for the second largest retailer in the world, The Home Depot. Here, I work directly with the client on all in-store signage. I am responsible for the conception of the collateral as well as the full print production process. I have a large skill set that I believe could meet the qualifications of a senior-level graphic designer or Art Director position.
