I have 20 plus years in IT and software development. Most of that time was dedicated to creating custom ETL solutions using perl for various employers. Former colleagues tell me, my code is still running in some of these places providing value even years later.
I currently offer my services in Perl but my experience isn't limited to just that I've created solutions in a variety of languages and may offer those as services in the future. I continue to study emerging technologies and expand my skillset in interesting areas including learning to map my existing skills to the cloud, "Big Data", and other distributed systems.
I also have a hobby level interest in digital art and am somewhat proficient in Photoshop, video editing with Adobe Premiere and FWIW, gaming.
Work Terms
I'm generally available during normal business hours 9am - 6pm CST, but other times may be possible.
I prefer communications to be in writing via Messages or other allowed written medium and project requirement spelled out in explicit detail.
Depending on length of the project, you can expect at least weekly updates. and certainly daily if you prefer.
I expect payment due upon completion for small projects requiring less than a week, and we can discuss milestones for larger ones.
I'm willing to provide bug-fixes for free, if there are any, for a negotiable period of time after job completion. This of course is separate from any "maintenance" outside the original scope of work and subject to another contract.
