I come from humble roots in central Pennsylvania.
Architecture was my career of choice coming out of high school. Carnegie Mellon placed me on the waiting list for their Arts & Architecture program, but Penn State took me with no waiting. I had already won a couple scholarships from their Saturday Morning Art School, so I was familiar with the college.
My fascination with computers side-tracked me from architecture and became almost an obsession. I love the challenge of accomplishing various tasks with computers.
The Army trained me to fix computers, so I kept their LANs & computers operational for 21 yrs. In that time frame, I taught myself HTML & some JavaScript.
Outside of the Army, I volunteered to become webmaster of the church I attended in that time frame. So, I furthered my web design skill-set into CSS.
Since then, I have done a little XML/XSLT for my personal music collection which eventually will go on my personal website when I get the time.
I'm looking forward to taking my knowledge of SQL into operation for SQL server projects in the future. That will help me get to where I want to be as a web developer who can not only set up the front end of websites, but also some of the back-end portion as well for businesses.
