I am a writer who still needs a full-time job to pay his bills, but knows that writing, in all its glorious forms is his passion.
I have been writing in one way way shape or form for more than 50 years, Starting as preteen writing stories of animals and friends to a teen journaling his way through high school and college to an MBA writing papers on everything from the effects of stress on study habits to brinksmanship in the building of a mall to the political implications of corporate investment. Of late my labors cover creative writing (working on second novel) and technical writing (the reports that I build for my full-time job are quite complex and require very detailed instructions in order to be replicated.
Writing, to me, is a dying art form, Texting, Tweeting and emojis are killing humanity's life-lock on the one thing that truly separates us from other primates and mammals...communication. I consider the ability to transmit an idea and all it's ramification from one person another to be sacred,
Work Terms
I am looking for a long term assignment with a firm that allows a little flexibility but also has the the same high standards that I hold myself to. I have done writing in every genre, in every type (fiction, non-fiction, synopsis and or technical) but am not willing to get into a situation where my compensation works out to $4 per hour, as some guru.com projects seem to.
I will provide free evidence of my skills by completing my first project (or a test project) without compensation if necessary. But after that, both sides need to be equally vested in all future projects.
I hope to be compensated in the $20 per hour range, but will settle for slightly less for the right position.
