Content Creator. Editor.
In May 2009 I completed my B.S. in Journalism and Media Communications at Saint John’s University. As part of the requirements for this degree, I completed nearly three years of internships at two of the leading global media publications. While working at Cosmopolitan, a subsidiary of Hearst Corporation, I was able to perform all the pre-production duties that were necessary to creating small and large format fashion editorial pieces for the magazine. Additionally, I successfully and efficiently created an organizational system for tracking and monitoring all incoming and outgoing samples. After the completion of that internship, I continued with an internship at Vogue magazine, a subsidiary of Conde Nast Publications. During my time spent at Vogue, I implemented more efficient strategy for creating and updating media lists, as well as compiling storyboards for editorials for the magazine. Also, I served the Director of my department with research, bookkeeping, and expenses. I learned most in these positions that sensibility, a calm demeanor, and quick thinking are usually the most necessary skills in problem solving.
My experience also includes working several internships in the closely related fields of Public Relations and Advertising. I worked at Lucky Branded Entertainment as an Advertising Intern, and during my internship there I curated and researched for several months to create a viral advertising collective, comprised of over 4,000 placements. I used a content management system made specifically for Lucky to update and format the site. Additionally, during my time there I assisted with the management of social media for the company, which at the time included Facebook, Twitter, and Vimeo. I also advanced my technical skills for video editing using Final Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop. I have interned at two of the leading fashion and lifestyle public relations firms in New York, Bismarck Phillips Communication & Media, and Factory PR. At both of these firms
