I'm a chef turned developer, currently living in Hanoi, Vietnam.

I'm still relatively new to web development. I've spent six of the past 8 years working in restaurants, doing everything from washing dishes to and waiting tables to running a kitchen and a restaurant. I'm trained as a sushi chef, a saute chef, and a short order grill cook. In those Jobs, I've not had many chances to travel, and the work/life balance is skewed heavily to the former. While a sous chef in one restaurant, I began studying web development through various MOOC's. Since then, I have been working to improve my skills as a developer and provide myself with the opportunity to travel. I currently live in Hanoi, Vietnam, but I will be returning to the US within the next few months. I'm working as a developer, using React and Angular, at a restaurant point-of-sale startup called #Hottab. I like to listen to heavy metal and punk rock while coding.
