Coding with insight and foresight
I grew up exploring and working with technology, starting in the early nineties, drawn into the somewhat underground world of Bulletin Board Systems, excited by the prospects and capabilities technology afforded. As the internet burst into the public eye, I fed on the open access to new information, delving into Linux, scripting, and programming, and networking.
Throughout, I've had an interest in philosophy and sociology. These interests were sculpted by my technical knowledge, and in turn improved my capacity to deal with technical problems in both abstract and concrete terms. My overall focus on keeping a balance in both perspective and action have informed my choice to get involved in rural living and homesteading. I enjoy the blend of technology with more physical activities.
Work Terms
Hours of operation are flexible, but typically between 9 AM and 9 PM Eastern time. However, in balancing physical and technical work, my time spent on technical work is limited to roughly twenty hours per week.
Payment terms can be settled at time of contract, and may vary depending on the scope of the project. Milestone Payments are preferred.
I prefer to communicate in general via email and chat systems such as Matrix.net or Slack, with occasional voice conferences via phone or Skype, particularly where text communication can be cumbersome.
