Experienced Mechanical Engineer

I am a mechanical engineer with 17 years of experience in a broad range of area's. I have functioned in engineering roles that include product design, manufacturing engineering, product and Industrial system integration, test engineering, process development and improvement and prototyping. I have very strong CAD skills along with lots of product documentation/design detailing experience. Additionally, I am quite familiar with common manufacturing methods, and have good Computer-Aided Manufacturing, CNC Machining and Rapid Prototyping Skills.

Aside from my technical skills I consider myself to be a good person to work with especially on newly developing products or unique projects. Mostly because my experience allows me to lead product developers effectively through a design for manufacturing process. I pride myself on communicating clearly with clients, managing expectations along with budgets and leading them down the best path that I can see for their projects.

I have a relationship with a local prototyping lab that allows me to purchase access to equipment for manufacturing prototypes, including 3D Printing and CNC machining. This lab has a great range of equipment which allows the creation of inexpensive initial models to very high quality fully functional prototypes.

Work Terms

• Part-time freelance work 5 - 15 hrs/week. Typically work on freelance project before and after full-time job.

• Prefer fixed price contracts.

• Generally prefer email as primary form of communication but have been becoming more comfortable with Skype.
