Writer, researcher, neuroscience nerd
I get passionately interested in things, and writing and science are my two loves. On a normal day you can find me perusing Wikipedia or Nature for interesting facts and new findings. I'm excited about making connections sharing ideas, especially about the intersection of hard science with daily life-- the neuroscience of political decision-making, for example, or metadata findings from dating sites. I love neuroscience because it underlays everything we do and every decision we make.
I've been teaching writing since 2010 and writing for online publication for over a decade. While I started off writing short stories and poetry, lately I'm focusing on long-form nonfiction. My goal is to be the author of a popular science book a la Mary Roach and Oliver Sacks. In addition to writing, I also offer editing and proofreading services.
I also have several years of experience in psychology research, from women's sexual health to survey-based behavioral science to trauma resilience. I'm proficient in SPSS and AcqKnowledge and very good with Excel.
