About

PhD Candidate, Teacher, and Creative Writer (oh my!) - Help Me Help You

Allow me to introduce myself! I am a second-year PhD Candidate in English (Composition & Rhetoric) with a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry, so I read and write a LOT. I have also been an instructor of College English for the past 5 years and work as a Writing Tutor during the summers. Throughout my time in higher education, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple Writing and Tutoring Centers, including one for International Students. I will also be serving as one of two Assistant Directors of the Writing Center for my university this upcoming academic school year.

Being in graduate school has allowed me to pursue many of my interests at once: teaching, writing, reading, and learning. As a Writing Consultant and Instructor, I have been able to help undergraduate and graduate students with their academic work, and as a Freelance Writing Tutor I have been able to work one-on-one with clients on more personal and creative projects. Writing is a very difficult and vulnerable activity, and I love helping writers break through walls and approach their assignments in a way that is most conducive to their learning styles. More importantly, I am passionate about helping writers find their voice and actually ENJOY the writing process!

I am a full-time student, and during the school year I teach and tutor at local colleges to supplement my humble stipend. Freelance jobs help me pay the bills, but they also connect me with people that become long-term clients and fellow writers. I love what I do. I am experienced, thorough, and hard-working. I am also invested in my clients and their projects because I know how much our writing means to us. I assume many of you are here because we you are trying to take that next step and work on that next big thing. I am too.

I look forward to working with you!

Work Terms

I am open to working with you however you need me to. Depending on the assignment or project, clients may send me a set number of pages to work through over a week's time. Then, we will schedule a time to chat over Zoom or the phone. Other clients prefer to go through their work with me and treat our meetings as more of a Writing Workshop. I am happy to discuss options.
