I am a passionate and experienced writer with extensive editing and research skills. My goal is to provide content for 100% satisfied clients and turn my freelance into full time.

My name is Carlen and I would like to write for you!
I have been writing since I was a child, disappearing into the made up world of my characters from an early age.
I was sole content writer for my own business website (an Apparel showroom), sending out a monthly newsletter as well. Currently, I edit and contribute articles to a local newspaper and a classic movie club newsletter. In addition, I am working on my own historical fiction project and a paranormal fiction book series, with a Las Vegas twist.
Seasonally, I travel all over the country working freelance in the Gift and Apparel industry, mostly through showrooms and trade shows, in sales, logistics, prep work and post show.
I live in Atlanta and in the past have lived extended periods in both Belize and Sweden. (I know Hot and Cold!) I look forward to writing full time and doing most of my writing from a combination of all three places.
I am actively involved in my community through the East Atlanta Community Association, the East Atlanta STRUT (a local, yearly street-fest) and the Porch Press and through these, find myself volunteering for beautification projects and other volunteer efforts in the neighborhood.
And when I am not working, writing or researching, I am doing yoga, fishing with my brother, trying to manage my jungle of a garden and discovering new healthy recipes. My interests include yoga, travel, gardening, cooking, fishing, healthy living and classic movies.

Work Terms

I work freelance and will always respond within 24 hours, most often less. While I have other commitments, I will always communicate the realistic time frame I can complete a job. I will ask a lot of detailed questions on the front end, so we are on the same page and you get what you require with few or no revisions. I am open to a "job" price instead of hourly.
