Public Health Professional
Carmine Novembre is a public health professional with a career spanning nearly two decades. In his role as Director of External Medical Affairs at Pfizer, Carmine managed the Medical & Academic Partnerships (MAP) program, which provides fellowships and creates authentic public-private partnerships in key areas of global health. The program is critical to the development of future global health leaders and supports trainees in a wide range of therapeutic and public health areas including immunization and infectious disease. He also lead a multi-year partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to analyze the impact of smoke-free policies on the hospitality industry in nine US states with high rates of smoking and smoking-related disease. The goal of the program is to increase restaurant and bar owners’ understanding of the benefits of smoke-free policies and impact local policy through state and community-level activities. Carmine also served as the Key Relationship Manager for the CDC Foundation and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.
As Residency Manager within the Department of Surgery for Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Carmine led the residency program turnaround initiative, centralized its sub-specialty fellowship program, developed an effective grant tracking process and led the upgrade of its departmental technology.
During his tenure with Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital, he served as Administrative/Residency Coordinator within the Department of Anesthesiology following his tenure as Billing Compliance Assistant. Throughout his career with the organization, he was recognized for consistently exceeding expectations, improving accountability, fueling staff performance and increasing the quality of its services.
Carmine has diversified expertise involving change management, administrative management, employee leadership, clinical healthcare, and program management.
