Hi there!

My name is Cassie! I am born and raised in Central Pennsylvania. I'm an experienced marketing professional with a Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from West Virginia University (go Mountaineers!). I found my passion in the psychology of marketing. I love to dig into the ins and outs of target markets and find what makes them tick. My niche in marketing is researching and diving head first into the persona of a company's audience then tailoring all the work I do towards that group of people. The how's, why's, and influences of what drives a buyer is what interests me most about the art of marketing and advertising.

I found my way into marketing in an unusual way. I was slotted to join the United States Army, full-time before a medical discharge ended that career. I found myself working for a small family-owned business that had zero marketing whatsoever.


I spent five years teaching myself how to market to a very niche group of people. Think burly men driving dump trucks who don't have time to do a lot of research and want information handed to them. I built the marketing program for that company from the ground up by teaching myself and using trial and error to find what worked. I’ve worked in the green industry for just under two years marketing and event planning for an independent garden center in Pennsylvania.

I have a passion for small business. America is home to countless numbers of small businesses that often don’t have the resources or time to properly market. Without marketing and advertising, growth is not impossible but it is much slower. I started Harken Consulting to help small businesses in every sector learn how they can grow their business in cost-effective and easy ways that don’t eat up all their time.
