I have extensive experience in accounting and financial management including over 25 years in higher education, with 16 years as Controller/Associate VP. In addition, I served as the CFO for a public foundation with assets/investments of approximately $90M. My last full-time was as a supervisor of an infrastructure and operations group at a defense contractor where I manage 24 full time staff and serve in the mode of a financial officer for a department with 950 staff and $275M in revenues. Through these positions, I have developed excellent skills in developing and monitoring institutional budgets, preparing various financial models and analyses for senior management, interfacing with trustee committees, and working closely with independent auditors.
In addition to my finance experience, I am very knowledgeable in the use of information technology. My colleagues have always considered me the “expert” when it comes to information technology. I have significant financial modeling and data analysis experience with various organizations.
Over the years, I have consulted with several companies including setting up accounting systems for an engineering consulting firm and most recently, assisted a non profit organization with a financial model that required the use of visual basic for applications to dynamically control charts and reports.
I have recently retired and am actively developing a consulting practice to assist companies with financial modeling solutions.
