Creative Writing:
I'm a writer who has won a 1st and 3rd place award in a local (though with global participation) annual flash fiction contest. I have also been a featured writer in Flash Flood UK's National Flash Flood Fiction Day, 2015, with two stories being featured. I have also contributed several works of fiction, plus a weekly parody/advice column to http://magnificentnose.com. You can also find many of my works at http://ceilk.wordpress.com. I am currently working on a novel, and a collection of short stories.
I have also written some articles for a couple of small local newspapers.
Business Writing:
As the owner of a marketing consulting company, I updated my company's blog. Writing samples available at http://polarismbs.wordpress.com.
As Operations Manager of a music retail chain, I instituted and wrote a weekly newsletter for the staff. I also contributed to a customer newsletter.
As EDI Coordinator for a Fortune 1000 manufacturing company, I wrote three software manuals for programs that I had a significant role in developing.
As Marketing Analyst for a Fortune 1000 manufacturing company, I was required to edit and update the company website. I also created all fax promotions, including text and graphics. I edited all print promotions for correctness. I wrote all inside communications for promotions and major initiatives.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst for a Fortune 1000 manufacturing company, I wrote instructions and details surrounding new OLAP reporting functions.
As a Disc Jockey, I wrote all between-music banter that required mention of specific musical and event-oriented facts.
I have taken college-level editing courses, and did in-depth study of magazine production. I also briefly worked at a magazine publishing company.
