Hello! I’m a freelance legal and administrative assistant with over 13 years of cumulative experience. My background includes working as an office assistant, title clerk, and, most recently, a legal assistant in a busy workers’ compensation defense firm. I hold an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and an Advanced Paralegal Certificate from California State University, Long Beach, which have equipped me with a strong foundation in legal principles and best practices.

In my current role, I’ve gained extensive experience using case management tools like Practice Master and document automation software such as HotDocs. I’m also proficient in Microsoft Word (including Merge Doc features), Outlook, Teams, Chrome, and PDF editing programs like Foxit, Adobe Acrobat, and PDF Creator. With a typing speed of 55+ words per minute and keen organizational skills, I’m able to manage large workloads while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

One of the things I value most is being detail-oriented, a strength I rely on to maintain high standards of precision and confidentiality. Recently, one of the attorneys I assist was filing a petition that lacked key facts to support his argument. I took the initiative to review previous emails, case information, and my previous notes, extracted the pertinent details, and drafted the missing portion myself. Not only did the attorney accept my work without changes, but he also praised how thorough and well-written it was. By proactively gathering the right information and presenting it clearly, I saved him significant time and ensured a stronger petition.

I pride myself on my ethical approach—safeguarding client information, meeting deadlines, and respecting the sensitive nature of legal cases. My colleagues often commend me for my efficiency; I keep my task list organized and up to date, rarely missing any deadlines. If a problem arises, I typically handle it independently and only involve my attorneys once I’ve gathered all the relevant details and fully explored possible solutions. This not only streamlines our workflow but also helps us maintain positive relationships with external entities.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, nature photography, and exploring the beauty of the outdoors. I’m also an avid aquarist, plant enthusiast, and creative hobbyist, dabbling in crochet, knitting, and various crafts. These personal interests help me stay balanced, foster my creativity, and continuously sharpen my attention to detail.

Work Terms

Available Monday thru Friday after 5pm. Available intermittently Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm. Will consider weekend work as needed. Not available on holidays.
