I'm a freelance storyteller with a passion for building community through collaborative storytelling.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I've been living and working abroad for the last few years.
I have extensive writing experience. My degree is a self-designed concentration from Western Washington University called Storytelling and Society, which basically meant looking at the way we understand ourselves as individuals and our place in the greater whole of society through the stories that we share and consume. It's shaped my understanding of marketing and storytelling through a lense of how we can foster stronger connections with one another or with our brands through the stories that we tell and how they connect with readers.
I've also worked as an editor, serving as the Editor-in-Chief for both a literary magazine and a small newspaper, as well as doing copy and content editing as a freelancer for various authors and poets, helping them to tell their stories in a way with clarity that resonated with readers while preserving the unique aspects that made their writing special.
I'm a former Peace Corps Volunteer; I served in the Republic of Georgia and did a lot of work with international education, non-profits, and women's empowerment through various organizations. I also ran an international creative writing competition through Peace Corps for youth around the world.
I've worked in digital marketing as well, coordinating social media efforts and guerilla marketing for, at various times, a productions company, a museum, a dance club and a school.
When I'm not working, I spend a lot of my time traveling and discovering archeological sites around the world, reading, and getting lost in mountains.
