Writing on environmental issues, psychology, human dynamics, agriculture, and humor.
The life of a farmer is rewarding. Some people think working on a farm is a simple life; that’s not true. Most small farmers also work a side job. My second job is making jewelry; and selling it online. This brings in money; while farming connects me with the earth.
Every morning I feed chickens, and ducks, then collect eggs. The high iron, and calcium content in the duck eggs is wonderful.
Connecting to the earth helps me find inner peace. Oftentimes the challenges one faces are best figured out from looking within. Being an organic, free range, farmer helps me do this.
I learned, from doing crisis intervention, that a person who’s struggling has the solutions within. It helps when people hold space for them to figure that out. When someone tells me about a stressful situation I listen, paraphrase, provide empathy, and say things like, “That sounds rough, you’re going through a lot.” Next ask questions like, “How are you holding up? What does talking to the other person involved feel like?” The idea is to help someone find what works for them.
Healers, and farmers, who are in it for themselves, get no where. I help people by being a sounding board; and raise animals, out of compassion. So many people talk about making the world a better place. I live a legacy of doing so.
Heres A forest garden is an ecosystem of native plants, and trees that produce food. One of my favorite college side jobs was installing them. There are many steps to creating forest gardens: The first being taking cardboard out of dumpsters, take tape, and staples off, lay it down on a lawn. Put up a fence to prevent deer, and elk from coming in. Next, cut holes in the cardboard. Food producing plants, and trees get put in those holes. Mulch is laid down around the plants, and trees, to prevent weeds
from killing them.

Pay me one cent per word. I need a weeks time to write an article.
Here is an example of some work I have done: When someone is given a sugar pill, and lied to, that it’s medicine, oftentimes the person heals because of the placebo effect. There’s something important here. If a person who’s given a sugar pill, that’s labeled anxiety medicine takes it, and then heals, the power of believe does the work. Therefore, we have more control over our realities, than we give ourselves credit for. We create our reality, to an extent, with our feelings. There are two ways people control their realities. One of them can be explained by the placebo effect; the other is partly that, with something else at work.
When someone prays to god, for recovery from a medical condition, and believes he is healing them, these prayers work. Is this because of god? There is not evidence for that. Healing gained from prayers, is the placebo effect.
Manifestation is where someone controls their thinking to believe they will get what they’re intending to achieve. In the form of manifesting things, there is no god, or other higher power, that decides what happens.
In my opinion, the power of manifestation achieves higher results in improving ones success, than the power of prayer. When focusing on manifesting things, rather than praying to a higher power, I meditate on getting that new job, higher wage, or something else. One way to manifest things is let the mind think about, for instance, ‘to get this raise I want, what about taking on this project?’
This is why praying to god that I get a raise is based on the placebo effect. On the other hand, in manifestation one thinks, what steps should I take to achieve my desired results? Therefore manifestation increases ones well being more than prayer.
The placebo effect is one example of how we manifest our realities as humans. There are many topics I write on. The placebo effect is one aspect of psychology studies that amazes me.
