I work closely with my clients to provide the quality they need. Being full stack, I save my client time by tweaking artwork or other assets without getting a 3rd party involved.
I've always been interested in software and electronics as far back as I can remember. I went to the University of Texas Arlington for a BS in electrical engineering but ended up spending the next 15 years writing software. Around 2005, my interest peaked in games, specifically algorithms used to break terrains into chunks, to skin 3D models, etc, and I received an MVP award from Microsoft in DirectX for my help in community forums.
I worked in the aircraft industry for about 11 years, both real aircraft and simulators, before I decided to go out on my own. I left my job to start my own freelance business in 2013 and have been doing that ever since. I have spent most of my time on one contract since then, for an email app called Inky for Android. In my spare time on top of that, I added games to an iOS app called Bomax, created a port of a board game called Ingenious to Android, and developed a mobile tablet app for a local business that monitors gated communities, called Gate Sentry.
I work out of my own office, built specially for my various passions. I have a video editing station, a sound booth, and a music station. I am proficient with many apps including Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Cubase, and 3DS Max to name a few. The majority of my work is done in Android Studio and Eclipse.
Work Terms
I typically work all hours of the day and can in most cases drop what I'm doing to respond to a client. I prefer email, phone, or skype communication over meeting in person only because I don't like to waste time traveling. In some cases, it only makes sense to meet in person, and I'm okay with that. My payment terms are flexible. I will leave watermarks in my products until paid and will sign my apps with an expiring signature until paid, but payment up front is always appreciated.
I track my time with toggl.com for hourly work and create a special login for each client to watch my time. I'm also fine with screensharing and time monitoring apps per client's requests.
