Veteran English Teacher Will Create Engaging and Relevant ELA Content
I'm a veteran high school English teacher with 15 years in the classroom. During that time I have created and implemented hundreds of curriculum units, lesson plans, and assessments. I have a strong understanding of ELA CCSS. I have also read, assessed and given detailed feedback on over 6000 formal student essays. I can leverage these experiences to:
-create engaging secondary ELA content for your class, school, or platform;
-proofread your content for spelling, mechanics, conventions, idioms, etc.;
-edit your content for flow and ease of reading.
While I am new to the freelancing game, I have been writing curriculum on a contract basis for Listenwise, an edtech startup in Boston. Listenwise creates online learning experiences for struggling readers and ELL students, using curated audio stories from National Public Radio. My work with them has been very format-driven, as it appears the material you need will also be. I have attached a document that links several of the lessons I created for Listenwise this past summer. You can also go to Listenwise.org to see these lessons live on the website.
I'm also a creative writer, working on my first novel. I love literature, film, geek culture, and long walks on the beach.
See my profile on Upwork for my skill test scores.
Work Terms
I work M-F, business hours, EST. While my availability within those hours is highly flexible, I can offer 10-15 hours per week on a specific project. Please get in touch if you would like to engage me for something more than this. I prefer communication via email. Thank you for considering me!
