Mr. Kocks' 30-plus year career includes over 12 years of consulting at Accenture, Grant Thornton, and as an entrepreneur delivering business strategy, customer/product strategy, and IT solutions. He ran an IoT consulting practice for 10 years serving the largest cable and telco companies and ran a robotics company for over 5 years. He was integral in the launch of several start-up companies including an electronic institutional bond trading platform & consortium for the largest U.S. investment banks in addition to the launch of a new consulting practice for Grant Thornton and advising a start-up customer contact software solutions company. While owning his own businesses he has conducted business cases, business development, product prototyping and beta testing for start-up companies in social platforms and gamification in addition to building toolkits for the Governor's venture fund and university technology transfer teams in Indiana. He has also conducted strategy & IT consulting for mature companies including GM, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Bank of NY, Bank of Montreal, US Bank, AT&T, Notre Dame, and many others.
Mr. Kocks' industry work includes leading strategy & product development initiatives for a start-up wireless business funded by Cox Communications partnering with Sprint. His work included innovative development at CableLabs working directly with Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Cisco, Motorola, and several start-up software companies. He also worked for Ford Financial and Chrysler in IT development and business analysis. His competences include business development, CRM, business analytics/intelligence, and product development in communications, IT, financial services, defense, and automotive.
Mr. Kocks co-founded Notre Dame networks business professional network and presided over two industry group chapters. He was an Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame instructing software design & development and evaluated business plans for the Notre Dame Social Entrepreneurship program. He is a member of the GA Tech Advanced Technology Development Center startup community and is plugged into the Notre Dame innovation park and several other university innovation centers focused on new company and innovative product launch. Mr. Kocks holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in Information Systems from Ferris State University.
