I have spent 3 years working for the tech industry. My most recent role was for a health care company using AI and Machine Learning to make healthcare accessible to the world. My role was as a Research Engineer, helping research, develop, and ultimately bring to market, an AI based patient diagnostic system and associated tooling. Before this I worked as a Software Engineer for an AdTech company developing Big Data systems capable of handling billions of web transactions and events a day. Both of these roles have made heavy use of web systems and architectures, including Microservices, REST APIs, database systems, real-time analytics, and much more.
Prior to my roles in Industry I was a PhD researcher for 4 years at the University of Bristol, working at CERN on the Large Hadron Collider, performing deep-level analysis of the experimental data using a variety of Statistical Modelling, Numerical Analysis and Big Data Analysis tools.
