My name is Christopher D. Tobin or Chris to my friends and family. I am a graphic designer, teacher, art director, illustrator, amateur photographer, comic book letterer and all around nice guy.
My career began with me attending Ivy Tech Community College. While there, I was awarded my Associates degree in Visual Communications with a concentration in Graphic Design. From Ivy Tech, I moved on to Indiana University where I got my Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in the area of Graphic Design. While at both Ivy Tech and Indiana University I worked full time. I found that working full time and going to school at the same time made it more fulfilling when I graduated from college.
After college, I enjoyed ten years of working along with doing things with family and friends. In 2011, due to economic hardship I was let go from my employer of 14 years. Luckily, and thanks to the encouragement of my wife, Annie, and both of our families I was prepared for this setback and started attending graduate school at Valparaiso University in the fall of 2011. I graduated in December 2012 with a Masters degree in the area of Digital Media.
When not designing award-winning pieces, I am also teaching or volunteering for Boy Scouts. I love to spend time with Annie and both our families and friends. In my spare time, I love to watch sports, movies, and old sitcoms, hike and outdoor activities. I also, from time to time, attend comic book and Star Wars conventions.
