About

I code, design and architect software. I work fast. My work will scale, won't leak memory and will be easy to use.

I design, plan the development of and mentor teams through creating SOA solutions. Most are cloud based. Our architectures usually involve making many small components that scale horizontally and communicate via message queueing or REST. I'm particularly fond of OSGi, and high performance distributed systems and the marriage of relational database systems and non-relational technologies. Areas I'm currently busy with daily: complex event processing, big data analytics, SOA architectures, rigorous testing and adherence to procedures that allow us to do business as a medical device manufacturer.

I'm used to pitching to investors, CEOs and similar non-technical stakeholders, as well as leading development teams. I volunteer in my community teaching Java and Python, as well as speaking to schools about learning technology at a young age. I also teach music.

Work Terms

I work all hours, mostly because I'm a bored insomniac with a good work ethic. I prefer Skype and Email to the phone.
