Creative educator & designer with 25+ years of Adobe expertise. Specializing in graphic design, curriculum development, & engaging digital content. Let’s bring your vision to life!
My name is Christy Brown-Johnstone, and I am a storyteller at heart—whether through writing, photography, design, or teaching. I earned my B.A. in English Literature and Composition from the University of Arizona before joining the U.S. Army as a Public Affairs Specialist. During my six years of service, I took on roles in media relations, photojournalism, editing, photography, and graphic design, developing a deep appreciation for the power of visual and written communication.
After leaving active duty, I transitioned into education, earning a Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification in Secondary Education (6-12). I spent eight years teaching English Language Arts, fostering critical thinking and communication skills in my students. Seeking to merge my love for creativity and technology, I later recertified in Emerging Technologies and spent another six years teaching Film & TV Production, Graphic Design, and Animation.
I further expanded my expertise by earning a Master’s in Instructional Technology, which led me to work part-time for Aspire Online, where I design engaging digital curriculum for grades 6-12. Currently, I teach Graphic Design and run a student-based print shop, overseeing the creation of posters, logos, and clothing designs.
I have been using Adobe software for over 25 years and am certified in Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and InDesign, with strong proficiency in Illustrator.
