About

The greatest form of flattery is a referral. Let me earn yours.

Although I am semi-retired, editing is a part of "me" that I could not leave behind. I just enjoy it too much. There is little better in life than to find something that is both lucrative and enjoyable. I feel so very blessed to have found this over 40 years ago ... and to be able to continue it on a freelance basis. Being a "line-tamer" is what I was born to do!

Work Terms

Out of respect to my authors and previous employers, I do not list their reference information. My own professionalism also prohibits this. However, it will be provided on an "as-needed" basis. You may search my name, Cindy Martin (or Cindy L. Martin), on Amazon.com under the Book section. You will see some of my work on there. As that is public, it is available to view immediately. I can tell you that I have done a little of everything, a lot of some things! I have special knowledge of medical and legal terminology, and I do not rely entirely on spell-check or grammar-check. Proofreading must be "eyes-on" to be entirely correct. Because I began my editing career at a newspaper, writing and proofing articles are second-nature to me. I have edited business plans, novels, all types of advertising material, resumes, business letters, books for children and much more. I am proficient with Word and PDF. I do not design websites. I have prepared agent query packages. I have experienced the world of ebooks. I know how the conversion must be done for these. I know the process from when the word is first put on the page by the author until the reader picks it up to read it, or turns on their digital device.
