In 1995, Mr. Nikula began working as an independent consultant, developing applications for clients such as San Diego District Attorney's Office, Kaiser Permanente, Amedisys, US Navy, MediaFax, Engineation LLC, Bank Of America , Country Wide, Laird Plastics, Global Ventures Management Services, Mayekawa USA Inc.

In 1999 GNS was founded in San Diego, which laid the foundation for Mesquite IT.

In 2008, he relocated to Mesquite, Nevada and founded Mesquite Information Technology, LLC.
