I’m Patrick Contreras, I started Creative Man Studio – graphic design, web design, and marketing 10 years ago, fresh out of college. It was a sink or swim moment. I have a degree in art, something I love, but now I have to make money at it. Being passionate about what you do makes you determined to succeed, so I’ve spent the last 10 years doing that. Graphic design is one of those professions that no one seems to know what you do, but they see it. It’s a lot like being a D list celebrity. Everyone has seen the movie you were in, but they don’t remember you. They do remember that the movie was great and they certainly remember the A-list movie star’s name. Basically a graphic designer sets the scene to make companies look good. There are two types of good design; the design that stands out and makes a statement and the design that blends in. A great logo or billboard that creates tons of viral buzz is just as effective as the elegant design in a novel that you don’t notice because you are completely engrossed in the plot. My passion for graphic design comes from being able to create these feelings and emotions in people through art. The design of product packaging or a company’s branding can communicate an entire background of history or give you a feeling for where the company is going or what they are working toward. Creative Man Studio helps companies communicate better with the people in their community and beyond. Partnering with clients to achieve their design and marketing goals has allowed Creative Man Studio to grow and expand taking on more and more clients and employing a small staff.

Work Terms

Terms and conditions:

BILLING PHASES – (For all clients) Billings will be in phases, based upon a 15 day billing cycle from initiation of project and/or completion of project milestones. If any in-progress payments are not received within 15 days of billing, your project will be placed on hold and work will not resume until payment is received. A final billing will occur at the completion of the project. Unpaid balances after thirty (30) days shall be levied a 10% Late Payment Fee and accrue interest at 1.5% per month until paid in full.

For new clients only
An initial payment of 50% of the estimate will be billed prior, and payment must be received before the project is started.

Billing in several phases permits CMS or client to adjust for such revisions/or halt work before completion if a project is postponed or canceled. A cancellation fee will be assessed. The cancellation fee will be 1/2 of the estimate or $65/hr for work performed, whichever is greater.

Invoice will reflect the actual time and costs incurred. Any work outside the scope of work described in the proposal will be preceded with a Work Change Order estimate. The Work Change Order estimate must be approved prior to the beginning of the work.

OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES – Fees for professional services do not include outside purchases such as, but not limited to, printing, photography, color printouts or courier service. Expenses are itemized on each invoice. Any expense greater than $250 will need a 50% deposit for order to be placed.

OVERTIME & RUSH FEES – Estimates are based on a reasonable time schedule, and may be revised to take into consideration your “Priority Scheduling” requests requiring overtime and weekends. Knowledge of your deadlines is essential to provide an accurate estimate.
