I'm half of an "Agile Boutique Agency" that research, write and edit audience-targeted content for discerning clients and their target readers.
I've worked in media since 1997. I was professionally trained at Print Futures: Professional Writing, a two-year diploma program at Douglas College in New Westminster, B.C. (suburban Vancouver). The program prepares graduates to work as skilled writers and editors that are trained in corporate and journalistic writing and editing practices. I also studied Creative Writing at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Film Studies and Photography at Capilano University.
I research, interview subjects, write and edit audience-targeted advertising copy, newspaper journalism, brand journalism (including managing custom publishing projects), business profiles, marketing documents, website content, speeches and television/video scripts.
Storytelling comes in many forms. I’ve written service features, profiles and technical documents for various sectors and audiences, including transportation, engineering, oil & gas, environmental technology, forestry, mining, agriculture, business, architecture, sport, lifestyle, education and the travel and tourism industries.
After work (and sometimes for travel stories), I enjoy self-propelled sports such as Nordic skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain & pathway biking and tennis. I also jam with stringed-instrument musicians on my various harmonicas (blues, blues rock, country blues and bluegrass).
