Miami-based photographer of news, events, products, portraits, and architecture in South Florida.
Daniel Bock is a dedicated and detail-oriented photojournalist with years of experience producing compelling photographs. He owes his success to his tenacity and most of all to his personal experiences.
Bock grew up in the Greater Miami area, a diverse place that instilled in him an appreciation and understanding of different cultures. Since 2007, Bock has shot nearly 3,000 assignments for the Miami Herald, approaching each story with empathy for its subjects.
He graduated with honors from Florida International University with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and liberal studies. He also earned an Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College with an excess of credits in the natural sciences.
Bock financed his education through a variety of odd jobs including airboat driver, environmental activist, bartender, restaurant manager, math tutor, and carpenter. This personal and professional experience allows him quickly to acclimate to any situation, tease out the essence of the issue at hand, and express it through compelling and informative photographs.
