I write objective and persuasive legal content for attorneys, law firms and companies. My writing includes brief and memo writing as well as web content, blog content and article writing.
I am a New York-licensed attorney with ten years of litigation and transactional experience. Legal writing has comprised the bulk of my attorney experience. For clients and companies, I have drafted litigation documents, legal "how-to" guides, business documents such as contracts and wills, and objective and subjective articles about the law. In one three-month period in late 2012-early 2013, for a large institutional client of the firm for which I worked, I drafted policies, procedures and memoranda pertaining to human resources, information technology, business development, and quality control, in response to the client's requested remediation of existing firm practices. The remediation was a success. My writing has also generated revenue: In 2013, I drafted a law firm's FNMA/FHLMC (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) servicer selection survey, through composition of training, reference manuals explaining procedural and substantive aspects of foreclosure law. Submission of the survey resulted in the firm's being designated FNMA and FHLMC-approved counsel designation. Translation: increased volume of business. I am now a solo practitioner, advising clients as to employment law and labor law issues, as well as performing legal research and writing needed for those clients to secure their workplace rights or to keep their business running soundly, as the case may be. I have experience with meeting stringent deadlines; working on group projects; supervising group projects; and thinking outside of the box to find client solutions that are both innovative and cost-efficient.
My hobbies include volunteer service, public speaking and trivia. I am a political news junkie and follow the Supreme Court of the United States with passion. I admire people who can engage in argumentation and discussion without resort to name-calling, and I have use my legal advocacy to give a voice to those who cannot speak or can only whisper - animals and the elderly. Above all, I admire competence.
