About

"Not all who wander are lost." (J. Tolkien). But those lost in translation constantly wonder if they've truly captured the intended message. I am here to offer you the linguistic assistance.

My name is Daniela Juvala. Since childhood, I have been fond of words and everything that stems from them - poems, stories, and languages. I have always enjoyed reading books, writing essays, and exploring interesting word combinations. As I grew older, I realized that due to the existence of different languages, some intriguing wordplays and interesting novels are inaccessible to some people. This realization led me to pursue a career as a translator, a profession that combines my love for words, my desire to help, and my creativity.

I am currently a third-year student of Translation and Interpretation (English and French languages) at the "1 Decembrie 1918" University in Alba Iulia, Romania. My personal goal aligns with my professional one - I aim to help people understand each other better and broaden their cultural knowledge. In this regard, I aspire to work as a literary translator or an audio-visual translator. I find it incredibly interesting and fulfilling to convey aspects related to culture, humor, and literary devices.

Outside of my studies, my hobbies include reading and watching movies. One quote that resonates with me and guides my approach to translation, as well as life in general, is Steinbeck's quote from East of Eden: “And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.” I believe that while there may not be a perfect translation, striving for a good translation is essential, and it is the goal I aim to achieve when rendering a text from one language to another.
