About

Empowering Innovation in Medical Devices: Expert in R&D Engineering, Quick-Turn Concepts, and DFX, delivering reliable, customer-focused solutions that balance quality, schedule, and cost.

With a rich background in medical device engineering and a Black Belt in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), I bring a unique blend of intelligence, common sense, and tenacity to R&D and mechanical engineering projects. My experience spans from early concept development to regulatory-compliant product launches, specializing in delivering innovative, high-quality medical devices quickly and efficiently. My approach is rooted in understanding that every project has unique demands—whether focused on schedule, cost, or quality—and guiding clients in selecting the two most critical priorities for their goals.

Why Work with Me:

Excellence in Quality and Reliability: I am committed to embedding quality throughout each stage of development, from concept to regulatory submission. My projects align with FDA standards and IEC 60601-1, ensuring devices that meet stringent quality and safety requirements while remaining innovative and dependable.

Rapid Concept Development and Design Skills: I excel at transforming ideas into functional, manufacturable designs quickly, utilizing design tools and principles to create early-stage concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, and cost-effectiveness. My ability to iterate quickly and adjust to changing requirements ensures efficient concept-to-prototype timelines without compromising quality.

Strategic DFSS Leadership: As a Six Sigma Black Belt, I am skilled in leveraging DFSS tools to enhance quality and efficiency across the product lifecycle. I am known for demonstrating the value of DFSS within cross-functional teams, leading to robust products that align with both customer needs and business goals.

Customer-Focused Project Management: Understanding that project success depends on balancing multiple priorities, I work closely with clients to identify which aspects—schedule, quality, or cost—are most important, ensuring that solutions are tailored to meet these needs. My experience as a project leader enables me to guide teams through complex challenges with a practical, results-driven approach.

Design for Excellence (DFX) Expertise: Proficient in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Reliability (DFR), I optimize product designs for manufacturability, longevity, and cost-efficiency. I have led projects that reduced production costs, extended service life, and exceeded customer expectations, all while delivering substantial cost savings.

Work Terms

Working Terms
1. Project Scope: All projects will start with a detailed project scope document that outlines the objectives, deliverables, timeline, and key milestones. Any changes to the scope must be agreed upon by both parties and may require adjustments in the timeline or cost.
2. Communication: Regular updates will be provided based on the project timeline, typically on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on project needs. Communication will be via Guru messages, email, or video calls, as agreed upon at the start of the project.
3. Turnaround Times: Quick-turn prototypes and initial concept designs will be prioritized based on project timelines. For larger projects, expected turnaround times for each phase will be provided in the initial proposal.
4. Revisions: Each project includes up to two rounds of revisions per deliverable, based on the initial project scope. Additional revisions can be provided upon request, which may incur additional fees.
5. Confidentiality: I adhere to strict confidentiality standards and am open to signing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect proprietary information and intellectual property.
6. Payment Terms: Payments will be made via Guru’s secure platform. For larger or long-term projects, milestone-based or weekly payments can be arranged.
7. Intellectual Property: All deliverables become the property of the client upon final payment. This includes all designs, documentation, and other materials developed specifically for the project.
8. Cancellation Policy: Projects can be canceled by either party with written notice. For cancellations by the client, payment will be required for all completed work up to the date of cancellation. For cancellations by me, a pro-rated refund will be provided based on project completion.
9. Quality and Satisfaction Guarantee: My goal is to deliver quality and customer-focused solutions. If the final deliverable does not meet the agreed-upon specifications, I will work to make it right.
