Looking for a technical writer who writes and debug code, who can write or talk about it and explain it clearly and in an interesting way to anyone? You've found me!
I am a career developer located in the UK, with over three decades solid programming experience and have worked in the computer games industry, aerospace and the 'City of London' financial centre of the UK including six years at Morgan Stanley where I developed and maintained oil trading software.
Along the way, I started writing about programming and have had published well over 500 articles, many including code.
I spent six years running the About.com C,C++ and C# website, writing programming tutorials and other articles, a regular blog, over 70 programming challenges and a curated directory of open source, all singlehandedly.
It's still up at cplus.about.com.
For the last two years I have been writing for several websites (Dice.com, Dice.co.uk and GoParallel.Sourceforge.net) as well as developing mobile apps using Xamarin.
Though I have a Computer science degree, virtually all of my knowledge has been picked up since and I'm still on a learning curve.
I've entertained and educated audiences with presentations at least a dozen times and have produced over 12 five minute screencasts on aspects of high-performance computing for GoParallel.Sourceforge.net in the last 12 months.
Work Terms
I work by assignment- give me a rough word count and if code has to be written. I'll give you a deadline and cost.
