David Mather is an art historian of early 20th-century European art, science, and philosophy. He has taught graduate and undergraduate students at Stony Brook University (2014–21). In 2013–14, he was the inaugural Andrew Mellon postdoctoral fellow in MIT's Architecture Dept. (History, Theory, and Criticism Program), in conjunction with the Center for Art, Science, and Technology. Prior to that, he completed a postdoc at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles.
