Freelance editor and writer: Experienced, educated, and committed.
I have been freelancing as a writer and an editor for over thirteen years. I have a degree in English literature and a law degree. While I am still a licensed attorney, years ago I found writing and editing to be more rewarding than sitting in a courtroom. Slowly, I made the switch from the legal world to the literary one and I have never looked back.
I am very familiar with the SEO process, particularly since I have written hundreds of articles for www.wiseGEEK.com and www.eHow.com. In addition, I have written countless pages of copy for website landing-pages, promoting people, places, and products. My writing experience includes full articles, product descriptions, press releases, marketing materials, blog posts, and how-to manuals.
I have edited a wide range of documents for a variety of clients. For example, I have edited books, both fiction and non-fiction, for authors who have become published. I have also edited countless pages of financial documents, press releases, marketing materials, biographies, blog posts, and website pages. Details are important to me. As a result, I will catch all spelling and grammatical errors – unless they are intentionally in the dialogue. I can also edit documents for flow – without losing the author’s voice in the process
Work Terms
I prefer a fixed rate over an hourly one. I work on writing and editing projects nearly every day of the week. I do most of my work from the hours of 9am-2:30pm and then from 4-6pm and 7-9pm.
