Bid writer, course designer, building designer
I have degrees in architecture (University of Michigan) and civil engineering (University of Toronto) and experience in building design, structural design, building assessment, green building standards, course design, proposal writing, copy and developmental editing, and building sector public policy.
I'm in the U.K. right now, but I lived in the U.S. for 33 years and Canada for seven. I was a licensed professional engineer in Ontario.
Work Terms
I am working with an experienced bid writing / proposal writing team in Nottingham, England and can provide you with a package that includes bid management, bid writing and bid editing for £500 per day ($650 per day US). If you can give me details about your company and provide the EOI, RFP, RFT or RFQ, I will give you an accurate estimate for the work.
Working independently, I can help with building design, course design and policy writing for $50/hour or £40/hour minimum. For example,
• I can create architectural and engineering drawings and 3D models for design development, tendering and local authority approvals: planning permission, building warrants, building permits, etc.
• I can edit your book, proposal, documentation, whitepaper or policy document. I've edited full-length books on SketchUp and Java 8 Lambdas, as well as many shorter documents.
• I can write and illustrate training materials. For example, I authored six LEED continuing education courses for an online training company and co-wrote/illustrated a commercial building inspection manual.
