I’m DeLano McVay, a 17-year U.S. Coast Guard veteran, published author, and Accredited Small Business Consultant (ASBC®), now using my voice and experience to empower others through storytelling, digital products, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship. My mission is rooted in veteran advocacy, specifically focused on PTSD awareness, mental health support, and resource accessibility for both veterans and their families.

Through my personal brand, The Informed Vet, I’ve built a multimedia platform that includes:

As a creative and strategist, I’ve also published a fiction series, Nito Nuro, inspired by African mythology and infused with deep themes of identity, conflict, and power. It’s part of an evolving literary universe that includes story-driven spin-offs, a 3D coloring book edition, and character guides, all designed to build engagement while exploring culture and heroism in a unique way.

I work with animation software like Bigmotion to produce motivational video content, which I share on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. These short-form videos connect emotionally with viewers by addressing mental resilience, veteran stories, and moments of inspiration — all designed to drive traffic back to my main resource hub and free toolkit.

I also manage a growing e-commerce operation using Shopify integrated with Spocket and DSers, focused on military lifestyle and wellness products. My digital products and dropshipping store allow me to generate multiple revenue streams while staying true to my advocacy mission.
