Find something you do for free and for several hours without noticing, then make it your career.
I currently work at a tech company in central California and love it. When I accept side jobs, I am given the advantage of being exposed to different challenges and solutions which ultimately make me a more versatile contributor, help someone else out, and earn a little pocket money.
Work Terms
Employer,
My bids set a cap or maximum amount but usually are actually less.
I currently work full time in central California as a programmer/database engineer and report writer. I always make sure that side job employers understand that I would be working after hours so that there are no misunderstandings. I also abide by the following plan to ensure I feel ethical after a gig is completed. Last thing I want to do is rip someone off.
1. I do the work required for the bid amount or less unless there is an agreement to change the scope substantially.
2. I charge by the hour, up to the bid amount. A statement of work and the current balance is available at any time.
3. If I make a mistake, my time to fix it is free.
I hope you agree with this strategy and accept my bid.
Denny
