My name is Derek Barnard, and I graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in English and Political Science. I currently am a full time employee as a Judicial Assistant to the Denver City Attorney, and on my free time I like to stay busy being as productive as I can. I like to write as a freelancer because I feel that written communication of the English language is continually degraded as time goes on, and having the sense that I am improving it for the sake of professionalism is very important to me. It brings a sense of fulfillment, especially knowing that the correct wording, phrasing, and attention to punctuation can serve as essential tools for achieving the goals of the publishing party.

Work Terms

I am readily available for your written communication needs, and I am easy to get ahold of on any given day, both through email and phone I am extremely cooperative during the writing process so that all your needs are met. My spouse also has a degree in English from Michigan State University (Go Green!) who helps to edit and revise every piece that I write. Because I am employed full-time, I generally work on writing assignments in the evenings and abundantly on weekends. I charge a reasonable $25/hr but am willing to work with you on a one-time payment per piece that you need written, based on an estimate of required hours to complete (with no changes afterward).
